THE COMPANY & MANAGEMENT
Belle Lucre, LLC is headquartered in Chicago and incorporated in the state of Illinois. Our founder, Felicia Slaton-Young, has more than 22 years of experience in the financial services industry and more than 13 years as a financial advisor. She holds a BA in Business and an MBA from Webster University.
All financial advice and portfolio creation will be managed by Felicia who uses insight from your finances to build your investment portfolio, to help you reach your goals. She’ll suggest how much you should contribute based on your financial profile, a gender-specific salary curve and your goals. Why? Because the median full-time female worker earns just 80.7 cents per every dollar that her male counterpart earns. That gap impacts the way a woman saves and spends her money, and the gap can vary based on location, race and other factors. Overall, Hispanic and black women have the biggest pay gap when compared to the salaries of white men.
So, calculating financial goal targets to meet your specific needs, including larger retirement amounts for a longer period of time, is essential to the long-term goal.

OUR SERVICES
Investment management consists of the creation of customized investment portfolios appropriate to your life circumstances and risk tolerance. Careful research is conducted to select mutual funds that have a strong long-term performance, exceptional fund managers and low operating expenses. Index and actively managed stock and bond mutual funds, exchange-traded funds and individual stocks and bonds are included in client portfolios. The client engagement expectation is a 4-prong approach: evaluate, plan, execute, and adjust. Meetings are held, at minimum, once a year with every client to ensure that we are are tracking towards your goals.
Fees are a fixed amount paid monthly, and range from 0.5%-1% based on total portfolio value. This is not a performance-based fee. Belle Lucre charges no additional fees nor receives commissions or sales fees.
THE MARKET
The financial services/wealth management industry has seen an explosion of growth over the last 10 years, since the recession of 2008. Chicago’s financial industry growth has more than doubled since that time and remains a financial hub in the mid-west. But what has remained consistent is that in the U.S., the actual retirement age for women (as opposed to when they’re eligible to receive full retirement benefits) is 66.1, compared to 67.6 for men, according to a 2017 study by the Organization for Cooperation and Development (OECD). Only 62% of women have a plan to help protect themselves against outliving their savings, versus 76% of men, according to a recent study by Nationwide Advisory Solutions. Women are also subject to higher health-care costs. A woman retiring at age 65 in 2019 is likely to pay around $150,000 in health-care costs throughout retirement, while the number drops to $135,000 for men, according to an annual reported on cnbc.com
